Com uma start list recheada de “estrelas” do triatlo nacional, o triatleta de Satão conseguiu um honroso terceiro lugar final.
Em paralelo, disputava-se o triatlo de Caminha com distâncias próximas das standard. Rita Lopes foi a primeira classificada no sector feminino.
Vários atletas com preparação da US Elite Sports Agency estiveram presentes, muitos deles a prepararem provas na distância ironman.

Octávio Vicente foi no passado sábado, na Golegã, 18º classificado na categoria PRO e 2º melhor português, na etapa portuguesa do mundial de triatlo XTERRA.
Apesar das dificuldades na natação, conseguiu fazer uma excelente recuperação no BTT e na corrida final. Concluiu a sua prova com o tempo de 03:21:00 a pouco mais de 30 min. do vencedor e campeão do mundo o espanhol Ruben Ruzafa.
Esta participação estava incluída na Taça de Portugal PORterra, onde conquistou o 2º lugar absoluto.
Na mesma prova, Renato Teixeira foi 6º geral (1ºsub23), Joaquim Carlos Lopes foi 26º geral (5º V2) e José Ferreira 39º geral (17º sénior).

Na etapa mundial XTerra, que se realizou na Golegã, foi o melhor no escalão [20-24] com o tempo de 3:26:40 à frente do Francês Christopher Dupre 3:31:56 e do Português Carlos Carvalho 3:36:33.
O jovem tenista da Maia viu hoje confirmada a presença no quadro principal do grand slam de Paris.
Este era o primeiro grande objectivo da época e para o qual toda uma equipa técnica esteve a trabalhar, juntamente com o seu treinador João Maio (ETM).
